How does the procedure work?
It all starts with a personalized consultation. In your meeting with Dr. Fodero, you will share your desired outcomes, and he will review your medical history and assess your overall health prior to the surgery. He will also address any further concerns you may have.
During a blepharoplasty, excess skin on the lids is removed surgically and the gaze is opened up by also —if desired— reshaping the contours. The procedure does not normally require total anesthesia, but local, and it can take up to three hours, depending on the extent of the work done.
Recovery is usually short and relatively comfortable. Some experience mild eyelid tightness and soreness, which can be controlled with over-the-counter or prescription medications. Dr. Fodero will provide thorough instructions so that you can have an optimal postoperative experience. Most patients can return to their normal activities within a week.
What is a Double Eyelid Surgery?
A double eyelid surgery, or “Asian blepharoplasty", is a procedure that results in eyelid crease becoming larger and more symmetric, giving the eyes an almond shape. As with all of Northeastern Plastic Surgery’s treatments, double eyelid surgery is customized to your preference and needs.
